Mark 5:1

Life Restored #

Mark 5:1-7, 1-20

Introduction

We have an extreme and vividly detailed account of a man living in the Gadarenes. As we see in this account, understand this man didn’t grow up in these conditions. You have to imagine he was someones baby. We have no real evidence, nothing to tell us about his past, so we are speculating.

I call this extreme, because really this is a clear picture of the extreme way sin can destroy a life completely. This man didn’t desire to end up in this situation. Most people don’t desire to be addicted to drugs, end up as alcoholics, or end up in prison. It is the extreme detrimental effects of sin. It is like a snowball that starts small, and collects as it rolls down a hill, it gets bigger, and at some point it is out of control, and there is no humanly way of stopping it!

God’s Expectation #

Psalm 50:1-6

Introduction

There is no doubt, this is a Psalm of God’s Judgement. In looking at this Psalm, you can focus all your attention on the judgement of God that is coming, or you can look into it, and find what does God truly expect from us.

Knowing what is expected of us from God, is far better, than just blindly going before a judge! I’m the kind of person that likes to know what is going on.

Pitfalls of Perversity #

Pro 5:1-6

Intro.

What God has made, Satan has imitated, cheapened, and ruined. (Peru knockoffs) When God was done with creation, the Bible says, “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

We live in a perverse society. Perversity is regularly propagated by the TV, internet, radio, billboards, magazines, and on the streets. A godless society, will naturally cave to the fleshly sinful desires of man. One of those desires is perverse pleasures of the flesh.

Mark 5:21

Troubled Woman #

Mark 5:21-34

Introduction

As we continue to “Look unto Jesus” our theme for the year. We find a Calmed the Storm on the sea for the disciples. We find he brought calm to the maniac’s life who dwelt in the tombs. We find today that he brings peace to a Troubled Woman. Most of the miracles that Jesus did are a living parable. Someone was physically healed, but there is a great spiritual application of salvation. Often salvation occurs simultaneously with the actual physical healing that takes place. This is one of those.
