Joy in the LORD #
Psalm 67:1-7
Introduction
The Psalm, is certainly a victorious Psalm, much like we would sing Victory in Jesus, A Mighty Fortress, Faith is the Victory, He is Able to Deliver Thee, or Stand Up- Stand UP for Jesus, it is a song of deliverance, joy, gladness, and praise to God for the victory given.
I. A Prayer Delivered (1) #
A. Mercy “be merciful unto us” #
1. No one is deserving! #
2. We request mercy, not receiving what we do deserve. #
B. Blessings – #
1. We ought to recognize God’s Blessings #
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
2. We ought to request God’s Blessings! - food, day, home, marriage #
C. Smile upon us “cause his face to shine upon us” #
1. You must be pleased with God #
2. God can be pleased with you! #
II. A Purpose Declared (2-5) #
A. Way to God (Witness)(2) “thy way” #
1. As an overflow, not mandated #
2. When we talk to about the LORD, out of responsibility, it comes across as responsibility. #
3. God will help us be a witness! #
B. Way of God is known (2) #
1. The way God desires we live for Him! #
2. The Way of God is revealed in the Word of God! #
C. Work is accomplished (2) “thy saving health” #
1. Witnessing will see results! #
2. If you don’t witness, you will not see results! #
D. Worship of God (3, 5) #
1. The more saved, the more praise! #
2. The more praise, the more saved! #
E. Welcoming of God (4) “be glad and sing” #
1. As judge “thou shalt judge the people” #
2. As ruler “thou shalt govern the nations” #
III. Prophecy Described (6-7) #
A. God’s Blessing #
1. On earth #
Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
2. On man #
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
