God’s Will for your Home #
Eph 5:17-21
Introduction
I want to preach on the christian home. It is an important topic, and one that certainly needs addressed. I will get to questions that are submitted, at some point.
The homes in our country are an absolute wreck. Satan has had an absolute field day destroying the family unit in this country. Marriages are failing at an unprecedented rate! So much so, that people have decided why get married! Children are put into difficult positions because of the failure of marriages, and guilt of the parents. At the heart of every divorce is selfishness that says, I deserve more, I want more, I expect more.
Marriage is a sacred institution, in which a person should be united physically, emotionally and spiritually with their spouse. Most marriages are joined on two of those three, physical attraction, and emotion bond. Both of those are fragile. Matter of fact, Ecc 4 sheds some light on that:
Eccl. 4:11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- The third fold is God, spiritual!
Dr. Rick Carter Says,
“If you consider the fact that people have been getting married since the garden of Eden, you would think that we should have it all figured out by now. It seems that we are going backward at a rapid rate. Instead of homes that are solid and happy we have broken homes and as a result broken people including children. Husbands aren’t happy, wives aren’t happy, children aren’t happy, and I am sure that God is not happy. The only one happy about the current stat of the home is Satan, the author of confusion himself.”

Prov. 20:1 ¶ Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
A. You must deny yourself! #
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
1. We do really good about denying ourself, until we are at home. #
2. Submission cannot take place without denying of self! #
II. Speaking/Singing with joy(19) #
A. God has music, and the world has music! #
B. Three verbs in this verse: #
1. Speaking – your speech is going to be right, not ungodly! #
2. Singing – there is going to be a joy in your heart! #
3. Making Melody – “in your heart” #
C. There is a joy knowing God is in control! #
III. Sentiment of Gratitude (20) #
A. Complaining fills our homes #
Phil. 2:14 ¶ Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
