What is a calling?
- Eph 4:1-4 -
- vocation = among divines, a calling by the will of God; bestowment of God’s distinguishing grace upon a person or nation

Eph. 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Every saved individual is called to be a witness!

Not everyone is called to be a full time preacher.
- Isa 6:1-8
B. Servant #
1. While the call to serve God, is a high, and holy calling, in reality, it is a calling to be a servant! #
2. Some preachers become well known, and even famous. #
- For every famous preacher, there are hundreds unknown to man.
- It is not a calling to prominence, fame and fortune.
Matt. 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
C. Separated #
- Every christian should be separated!
- Paul lived a separated life
Cor. 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
D. Example for us! #
III. The Authority (Romans 1:2-6) #
A. Promised (2-3) #
1. This is not a new thing, but a foretold thing! #
2. Jesus Christ our Lord… seed of David #
- It had been promised of old that Jesus would be born of the seed of David.

B. Powered (4) #
1. Power in the miracles #
2. Power in His preaching #
Matt. 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
3. Power in His perfect life and testimony #
4. Power in His Resurrection! #
5. You can have the Power of God in your life! #
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
C. Personal (5-6) #
1. “Called to be saints” (7) #
- Saint – 1. A person sanctified; a holy or godly person; one eminent for piety and virtue; any true christian, as being redeemed and consecrated to God.
- We are appointed to be holy!
1Th. 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
1Pet. 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
