Overwhelmed #

Psalm 61:1-2

Introduction

Overwhelmed means to overspread or crush beneath something violent and weighty, or to become faint, or feeble at the weight of something.

We sometimes use it in a positive way, overwhelmed with joy, but in the Bible, we find it's context is always negative.

Psa. 55:5 Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.

Psa. 77:3 I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

Psa. 78:53 And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

Psa. 124:4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

Psa. 142:3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

Psa. 143:4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

At some point in your life, you will have that feeling of being overwhelmed. Know, you are not the only one to have felt overwhelmed.
