Trumpets of Torture and Death #

Revelation 8:13, 9:1-12

Introduction

A reminder of where we are in the Book of Revelation. The first three chapters contain messages to the churches. Some have laid out time periods that these fit into. They also are relevant messages and perhaps even stages that any church can find itself in.

Revelation 4 – We believe the rapture takes place, we do not see any mention of the church hereafter. The scene is described as being in heaven, it is a marvelous scene of worshipping the LORD Jesus Christ.

Revelation 10

Attention #

Revelation 10:1-8

Introduction

We have already looked at the seven seals. We have looked at 6 of the 7 trumpets. If you remember, the seals, the first 6 are listed in chapter 6, and then in chapter 7 is a parenthetical statement. It is a pause in the sequence of events, and gives us relevant facts about some of the people, that will be dealt with going forward. We have much the same situation here in chapter 10. We have looked at 6 of the trumpets sounding, and prior to the 7th, we have chapter 10 as a parenthetical statement that is going to give us some relevant facts about places. All of this takes place during the tribulation period. The rapture of the saved happened right at the beginning of chapter 4. We do not see reference to the church (body of believers) after chapter 4.

Revelation 11

Revelation 11 #

Revelation 11:1-2

Introduction

In chapter 10, we started a parenthetical statement, in which relevant information is added to the story.

Example:

  1. George was driving the car, and he was doing a fabulous job.

  2. George was driving the car (he was only 12 years old), and he was doing a fabulous job.

The sounding of the trumpets was introduced to us in Chapter 8, continued in chapter 9, when in chapter 10, the thought is put on pause, and relevant information is given to us in chapter 10, and partially through chapter 11. Where in the rest of chapter 11, it continues the thought of the sounding trumpets that are proclaiming judgment on the earth.
