Giving to the LORD #
Proverbs 3:9-10
Introduction
People have a tendency to ‘write off’ the OT, thinking it doesn’t apply to us today. That would be a great error!
Romans 15:4 “^4\ ^For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
1 Corinthians 10:11 “^11\ ^Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.”
2 Timothy 3:16–17 “^16\ ^All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: ^17\ ^That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
I. Principle (9) #
A. Priority God “Honour the LORD” (9) #
1. Honor – (verb) to make an action to the LORD. #
- Honor - 1. To revere; to respect; to treat with deference and submission, and perform relative duties to. 2. To reverence; to manifest the highest veneration for, in words and actions; to entertain the most exalted thoughts of; to worship; to adore.
2. Being in Church is a way to honor the Lord - #
Heb. 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
3. Being a witness is a way to honor the LORD! #
Matthew 28:19 “^19\ ^Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
B. Physical things “with thy substance” (9) #

6. This is a principle! God expects you to honor him, by giving to him your money! #
