Genesis 13:5-10

A. Possessions
Prov. 10:22 ¶ The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
B. Influence
Heb. 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
II. Bad decisions of Lot (Gen 13:8-11)
A. Absence of Prayer! (Gen 13:8)
Phil. 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
B. Pitched his tent toward Sodom (Gen 13:12-13)
Prov. 23:6 ¶ Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: 7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. 8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
C. Placed his home in Sodom (Gen 14:2a, 11-12)
2Pet. 2:7 ¶ And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

A. Disbelief of son-in-laws (Gen 19:14)

C. Disobedience of his wife (Gen 19:17, 26)
