Eternity?

Eternity, is a long time, where will you spend it? The ABC’s are easy for a child to even learn, but did you know that going to Heaven is also as easy as ABC?

God shows us how in His Word!

Admit you are a sinner.

We all like to be thought of in a good way in this life. Whether at home, work or school, it is our desire to be loved and accepted for the things we do. So it is an easy thing to admit when we have done something good or right, isn’t it? Questions such as, Who planned this great event?, or Who did such a good job?, are easy to answer with, I did! Unfortunately, not all we have done in our lifetime has been good. As humans, each of us have at one time or another failed to do what is right. We all have said things, done things or thought things which have not been right, but it is not our nature to admit to wrong things. It is not easy to admit, I have done wrong. However, God knows each one of us as no one else does. He not only knows our wrong-doings, but He even knows every thought and motive of our heart. Whether big or small, God calls these wrong things sin. We may not like it, but if we are honest with God and ourselves, we know and will admit that we are sinners.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3: 23)

If we look further into the Bible, we read that God will bring a judgment upon us because of our sin. God says that this judgment will not only be physical death, but a spiritual death of eternity in Hell. This again goes against our thoughts, but we must believe the Bible rather than our own opinion.

For the wages of sin is death; (Romans 6:23a)

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? (1 Corinthians 6:9a)

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (Revelation 20:14)

You may ask, If I have sinned and the penalty for sin is death in Hell, then what hope is there for me? Well, there is good news in spite of our sin!

Believe that Christ died for you.

God’s good news is that Jesus loves you and died for you!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Jesus was God’s only Son and equal with God for He is God. Yet, He loved us in spite of our sin. He came to this earth some 2,000 years ago with a mission that mission was death. He died for us to pay for our sin. Then He was buried, and three days later rose again as a living Saviour!

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

You see, although the payment for sin is death, we can find out from the Bible that Jesus paid that death for us! He shed His blood upon the cross of Calvary for your sin and mine because He loved us that much Jesus took our death upon Himself that we might have life! Although Christ has died for us, we must truly believe for it to mean anything to us. Do you believe that Jesus loved you so much that He died for you?

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Confess Christ as your Saviour.

Although you may admit that you are a sinner and believe that Jesus Christ died for your sin, there must yet be one final step to be saved. That is to confess Him as your Saviour, and to desire for God to change you from a life of sin unto a life of trust and dependence upon Him. This is repentance.

God . . . commandeth all men . . . to repent: (Acts 17:30)

The Lord is not . . . willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

There is salvation in the name of Jesus Christ if you will only trust Him and accept His love for you.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

Will you pray and ask God to save you right now?

Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and deserve to spend eternity in Hell. I believe that you sent your Son to die for my sins. I repent of sin and want you to change me. Lord, forgive me, cleanse me and save me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, then God knows.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:11-12)
