1 Kings 18:1-20

I. The Precept of God

A. The Requirement (1) "Go, shew thyself unto Ahab"

Is. 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

B. The Reinforcement (1) "I will send rain"

i. Promise to go with the command ii. God's other commands • 1 Kings 17:3 - "hide thyself" 4 "I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there." • 1 Kings 17:9 "get thee to Zarephath" "I have commanded a widow woman there"

Gen. 12:1 ¶ Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

III. The Performance of Ahab (16-20)
