Introduction

We will start a new series on one of my favorite Bible characters, Elijah. The most glaring characteristic of Elijah, is his out right bravery and boldness! He takes a very strong stand against sin. He is one of the many prophets, that comes onto the scene with very little introduction. He is an exciting character to study.

ii. The Rulers: - Nadab – 2 years, continued in sin - Baasha – 24 years, Killed all of Jeroboam’s family, and continued a bloody war against Judah - Elah – 2 years. Baasha’s son, lost the throne because of drunkeness. - Zimri – 7 days! Killed Elah, & all the family of Baasha stole the throne. - Omri, 12 years, also a wicked king → son Ahab

i. Leader in wickedness! ii. Looked to kill Elijah, the man of God!

i. Washed vessel – James 5:16 – “righteous man” ii. Willing Vessel – he went, gave God’s Word.
