Revelation 2:8-11
I. The Victor (8)
A. Personal Experience (8)
i. Died
Is. 53:4 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
ii. Rose victorious (1 Cor 15:55-57)
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
iii. Is Alive!!!
B. Personal Knowledge (9)
i. Knows all about us!
Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
ii. Knows what we go through!
II. Valor (10)
2Cor. 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
A. Suffer - Fear not (10)
(2 Tim 3:10-14) 12* i. tribulation
2Tim. 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
ii. Trust that the Lord is with you!
B. Stand Strong "faithful unto death"
2Tim. 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
III. Vow of Safety (11)
A. Second Death (Revelation 20:14)
i. The first death is a physical death
Heb. 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
ii. Second death -
Rev. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
B. Salvation
i. Through Jesus!
1John 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
ii. Born of God!
1John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
C. Security!
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
