Knowing you are to offer sacrifices, and to go
to the Temple. Knowing the laws and books of the Bible that had been
given to your people to hold on to. Knowing that God for literally
thousands of years had worked through your people. Granted it had been a
couple hundred years since a prophet actually had a vision, or prophetic
Word from the Lord, but still. Then, the Messiah comes, only, the
religious jewish leaders rejected him. What do you do? Jesus, was he
really the Messiah? Many of the common people had no problem seeing it,
but many of the very religious devout jews greatly struggled with how
this fit the passages they had spent their life reading. Many struggled
understanding how this now worked, it was a completely NEW way!

Romans 12:9

Keys to a Holy Life

Romans 12:9

Introduction

In verses 9-21, we are going to look at Holy living! There are some
very, very practical things given in the Word of God, that He expects us
to adhere to. They are not written simply so we can read them and be
aware of them. They are written, that we may PRACTICE them in our life.

Keys to a HOLY Life – These set the tone for the rest of this chapter.
Verse 9 is a foundational truth for the rest of the verses that are
given.

Mark 6:14 - Standing for Righteousness

Standing for Righteousness

Mark 6:14

Introduction

Bob Jone’s senior said, “Do right till the stars fall!” – We need
people who are dedicated to doing right, living right!

Prov. 14:34 ¶ Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach
to any people.

Thank the Lord for our Country, and the liberty we have. Our country is
not perfect, but it is literally the best country in the World. It was
founded on God’s Word! A lot of the wisdom of the Proverbs was most certainly taught to Solomon by his father David. And ultimately God multiplied that wisdom for Solomon.

We find a good outline for managing a family, a business, a kingdom, or government. This Psalm has great advice and help for us.

David was considered a man after God’s own heart, and we see a strong sense of purity in this psalm. We see the principles in which David desired to guide his kingdom. David was not perfect, but he certainly had good desires.

Proverbs 11:1

October 9, 2019

Lessons from Proverbs 11

Proverbs 11:1

Intro.

Much of this chapter deals with Righteousness or being upright, or just.
You will see these words used more than any other topic in this chapter.

I. Lord willing we will get down to verse 40 this morning. We have a series of questions which are asked, but not out of sincerity, but rather out of malice, and with the idea of entrapping, and ensnaring our Lord Jesus Christ. Questions can be a very interesting study in the Bible! Questions are sometimes asked of us to cause us to reflect. Sometimes questions are asked out of sincere desire to know something. Sometimes questions are used in sarcastic manner to make someone feel dumb. Sometimes questions are “trick” questions, that are used to trap someone with their words. That is exactly what is going on here. They were trying to trick, and entrap Jesus.

Proverbs 21 - Way

August 5, 2020

Which Way Should You Go?

Proverbs 22:1, 2, 8, 16, 21, 29

Introduction

I have never made any claims about being good with directions, because
the truth of the matter is I’m not that good with directions. I have to
see a map, and really spend some time looking at a map to figure things
out.

Some people struggle with directions on a spiritual level, and are often
confused, and struggle with the right direction in their life. All the
verses we will look at this evening deal with the Way. Perhaps you ask
yourself, Which Way Should I Go? Many times we stand at a cross road in
our life, trying to figure out the best path to take. I hope tonights
message will help you, and encourage you to take the right path.
