Many messages have been written and preached on verses 6-7. I love studying a passage with the whole context, and especially when there are verses so familiar and used. It is refreshing to see them in context. Sometimes it is enlightening to find out they don’t mean what people have used them for.

I. While these
very well can represent ages, they very well could stand for stages or
states in which a church may be.

Last week, we looked at Smyrna, as the Dependable Church, who stands
through persecution. It was pointed out to me afterwards, that even now,
the christians in Smyrna face persecution! So, while it is very popular
to define these as ages, they also can be a status of current churches.

Revelation 2:18

September 18, 2022

The Defiant Church

Revelation 2:18-29

Christ - the “Son of God”, eyes like unto a flame of fire (judgement),
feet like brass,

Eyes like unto a flame of fire - judgement

feet are like fine brass - righteous

God’s judgement is righteous.

God’s judgement in this portion, can seem harsh to us, but it certainly
is not. It is just. There has never been
a book written like the Word of God. It is a timeless book, that speaks
to the heart of the listener like NO OTHER literary work on earth! That
is because it is a heavenly book, that originated in heaven, was given
on earth, preserved through the ages. You are holding it in your hands
today. Tonight, I want to give a very clear message recorded in the Word
of God on what God wants for each person! Nothing is worse, than not
knowing what is expected of you in a given situation.

Proverbs 23:1-8 - Wise Life Lessons

October 28, 2020

Wise Life Lessons

Proverbs 23:1-8

As we wade into a new chapter, instead of each verse being it’s own proverb, these proverbs are spread out over a couple of verses. He is the man responsible for the translation that I whole heartedly endorse, and stand behind as the Word of God in Spanish.

Tonight, I have a lot of information, but I hope to draw it down to the most important things.

What Kind of Mind do you have? - 2 Corinthians 4:4

August 16, 2026

What Kind of Mind do you have?

Introduction

We have been looking at what the Bible says about the mind. There are a lot of helpful verses that cover the topic. We examined Isaiah 26:3

Isaiah 26:3 — Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

We looked at

Philippians 4:8 —8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Preservation of Scripture

September 28, 2025 - PM

Preservation of the Scripture

Matt 5:17-19

Introduction

There are really two main lines of thought on the Bible.

Those who say, God preserved His Words in the original, and we cannot know where they are at. They are still trying to put God’s Words together. They are not complete. They are coming out with new Bibles all the time. Since the early 1900’s. I remember in the 1980’s when the NIV was the newest greatest Bible!

Those who say we have the perfectly Preserved Words of God today!

I.
