However, it is
very clear in the beginning of the gospel, that he is not a weak
servant, but a very powerful, strong servant. While Jesus came to serve,
and be a servant, by no means does that make him weak, or lessen his
authority.

Proverbs 1:7

December 19, 2018

Proverbs 1:7-9

Intro.

This probably should have been tagged on the last passage that we
studied, and included with that section.

I. There is a real contrast in the idea of a relationship
between a father and son, and that of wisdom, and the simple, scorner,
or fool. A father deals has a great deal of interest and love for his
son, as does a son for his father. The same cannot be said of a simple
person, a scorner, or a fool!

Romans 13:1

Christian & The Government

Romans 13:1-7

Introduction

There are some that would take this passage, and completely separate it
from the rest of the passages. It flows very well, as the Apostle was
teaching about Christians and their conduct with one another, they then
move on to Christians living with lost individuals, and he now continues
with the idea of Christians and the state or government.

As we have noticed, the church in Rome consisted of Jewish christians,
as well as gentile christians. This teaching applies to both of them. We
having a Bible, are given much light into the jewish mindset. The jews
were a tough people to govern, because they would not fall in line with
the government over top of them. They gave the Roman empire great
amounts of trouble. They simply
cannot leave well enough alone the Lord Jesus Christ. He was winning the
hearts of the people, and they were being left behind. Their influence,
their position, their authority, was all being threatened by Jesus
presence.

These were not interested in truth, they were interested in maintaining
their prestige, the position, and their prominence among the people.

Psalm 93

July 9, 2025 - Wednesday

The King

Psalm 93

Introduction

We have a great description of the King in this Psalm. Respect for
authority is lost. Children in schools are taught by example, they do
not have to respect their teacher. Teachers are stripped of the
authority they once had. We see this in a dis-respect, and even scorning
of law and order in our country. Many times people excuse rebellion to
authority based on abuse of authority. This does take place, and even in
Paul’s day, it was it was a problem, and Paul in the NT still wrote,
