Mark 1:35-45
Introduction
Last time, we looked at Jesus Authority. Authority with the Scriptures,
Authority over spirits, and Authority over sickness. He should be our
Authority! We are going to look at lessons that we can learn from the
Lord!
I. Lessons of Prayer (35)

Guard your Heart
#
Intro.
Every passage we have looked at in Proverbs should impact our life, and
change our life, however tonight, my prayer is that your life will be
changed on a very deep level. The passage we are going to look at will
give you the very key to changing the whole direction in your life. It
should change the way you look at everything.

Psalm 107:1-3, 43
Introduction
Poetry in the Psalms is often giving the same message in multiple examples, illustrations, and historical accounts. We find that to be very true in this Psalm. Of course the historical reference is that of the history of Israel, and it would be great to know it. We do not have the time to cover all the history, and the references that are brought out.

Lessons from Proverbs 11
#
Proverbs 11:1
Intro.
Much of this chapter deals with Righteousness or being upright, or just.
You will see these words used more than any other topic in this chapter.
I. Righteousness Defined (1, 3)
#
“The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of
transgressors shall destroy them.” (Proverbs 11:3)
A. Honesty - (1)
#
Bible times, they didn’t have digital scales. They would have a set of
weights, and a scale. If you wanted a lb of flour, they would put a 1lb
weight on one side, and weigh out 1lb of flour. To cheat people, their 1
lb weight, wouldn’t weigh a pound.

Triad of Praise
#
Psalm 113:1-9
Introduction
I’m not really a musician, but I know a little about music. Musical chords are generally made up of three notes that harmonize with each other and go together. They are called a triad. These are Psalms, and therefore songs, so I have entitled the message a “Triad of Praise” Three praises that harmonize with each other and create a good sounding harmony of praise to the Lord.

Questioning God
#
Mark 12:13
Introduction
We have a lengthy portion before us, and I will not read it all in the beginning. Lord willing we will get down to verse 40 this morning. We have a series of questions which are asked, but not out of sincerity, but rather out of malice, and with the idea of entrapping, and ensnaring our Lord Jesus Christ. Questions can be a very interesting study in the Bible! Questions are sometimes asked of us to cause us to reflect. Sometimes questions are asked out of sincere desire to know something. Sometimes questions are used in sarcastic manner to make someone feel dumb. Sometimes questions are “trick” questions, that are used to trap someone with their words. That is exactly what is going on here. They were trying to trick, and entrap Jesus.

Psalm 119
Introduction
This is a great section. Last week the psalmist recognized his own weakness, and really explained the struggles he had. This week, we see his heart desire. It is a genuinely what the psalmist wants in his life. Usually when someone tells you they don’t have time for something, or don’t have money for something, they haven’t prioritized it enough in their life to allocate the time, energy, or money for it. We are genuinely a blessed people. We have so much, and if we truly want something, we will make it happen that we get it.

Goodness of God
#
Psalm 119:72
Introduction
Every portion of this chapter has been of great value and help. Confession time, sometimes as a preacher, I feel rushed, and want to move on to the next chapter, but there is something in every section for us. We should not get ahead of God, or skip forward, and miss out.
The goodness of God is on full display in this portion of the Psalm. It is mentioned more than you realize.

Direction in Life
#
Proverbs 14
Intro.
Ways, way
I. Upright way (2)
#
Uprightness - honesty; integrity in principle or practice; conformity to
rectitude and justice in social dealings.
A. Lesson of David!
#
God appears to Solomon and offers whatever he wants:
“And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father
great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in
righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast
kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to
sit on his throne, as it is this day.” (1 Kings 3:6)

What Does God See?
#
Proverbs 15:3
Intro.
What does God see? If we could be mindful of this in our life all the
time, it would be of great value and benefit to the way we live our life
from day to day.
I. Power of Words (1,2,3a)
#
A. Soft Words - (1)
#
Doesn’t imply a weak or compromising answer.
Jesus often gave a soft answer when dealing with the Pharisees who came
accusing Jesus in attempts to trap Him.
