Introduction
The Psalmist in this portion gives us a view into some personal introspection of his own life. Some internal thoughts, of where he is at.
I. David’s Allotment (57-58) #
- “Thou art my portion”
- Portion – A part assigned; an allotment, or dividend.
A. Godly portion #
- Portion is often portrayed in the idea of food. The portion you are served.
- The Psalmist recognizes God as his portion, what he receives in life.
i. Many desire earthly things #
- We live in the world, we are flesh and blood.
- We see and we desire, all of marketing is built off the desire of man to have things.
- The Psalmist is content with God as his portion!
1 Timothy 6:6–7 —6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
